ok here's the demo (http://www.v3n0m.com/rj.dm2) = 54kb

if u want to see this demo of rocketjumping, make a demos folder in ur c:\quake2\baseq2\demos and stick the demo in there.

when u execute q2, hit the ~ key, which brings down the console, then type /demomap rj.dm2

To rocketjump:
u have to shoot at the floor with ur rocketlauncher as soon as u jump. Simple ay? killer concept huh? well, it does takes practice. And no, i'm not talking about killing urself, that's easy http://www.thehypertribe.net/ubb/biggrin.gif But it does take off health so watch ur health. But since the CPL (http://www.thecpl.com/) has announced that Quake3 wasn't going to use in the future events and was going to CounterStrike, many of the quake community went to CS. And as soon as that happened, all the CS llamas (http://www.r3volution.com/images/you.gif) started to bitch at the fact that quakers tried to strafejump in CS. It's possible, but hard to do. So CS players whined and bitched enough to get it banned. So now, the new patch had some server side tweaks that makes it almost impossible to do.</FONT c>

Jumping while you're strafing (Running to the right or left while facing forward) in a fps.

<FONT COLOR="Red">Strafe Jumping was a bug in the program that allow the user to move alittle faster. You can gain more momentum this way. It's been accepted by most professional quake players as a skill. But DK is correct about how to do it. while running, hit jump while strafing to either left or right.</FONT c>

Strafe Jumping was a SERIOUS skill in QuakeWorld Team Fortress after they made that bastardized patch that made it SLOW YOU DOWN. Snipers loved it. Demomen hated it. It was stupid.
