View Full Version : Leaving

It is nearly time for me to take my leave of this place.
As of 4/30/04 approximately noon, I'll be off line, indefinitely. On 5/04/04, my house will be sold in foreclosure. I finally found a way to quit, and fighting the foreclosure is what I quit.
My household goods are in a storage unit, prepaid for one year.
Saturday moning, I will walk out of here with the cat in a carrier, get in my corolla with my clothes and tools, and drive away. I dont plan to come back.
I am moving, temporarily, to Shreveport, Louisiana, to live with my step-daughter, son in law, and g'son. I don't know how long I'll be there. Depends on many factors like finding work, finding affordable/livable housing, etc.
Neither this forum, nor the chat line, are usually accessible through library computers. Thus, I'll be absent.
I may return one day, I don't know. I hope too.
To all my friends here - thanks for unmeasurable kindness, and people who care. You guys are what make THT my internet home, and I'll miss you all.

I look forward to speaking with you again, someday, my friend.

When I read a good book, there is a feeling I get when I turn and read the last page. Resentment that the book is finished, joy at discovering the ending of a story and excitement for future publications by the author.
I feel the same way right now.
Simon, you add so much to our lives through the experiences of yours. I hope that in some way we can repay this to you.
Be good and enjoy your new adventure. That's what life is, right? An adventure.

Looking forward to reading you again when accessibility your side allows it.
Don't be a stranger if possible.

To a man like no other I’ve ever met. It has been nothing short of educational and a great pleasure. I know in my heart we will cross paths one day again and that experience will be nothing shy of what it has been.
Good luck old friend.
I’m rooting for you and your future.
Rock on Patrick.
There's a bed to crash on here if you're ever up this way. You've taught me a lot about reality. Good luck big guy.

Though I've never spoken to you one on one you have taught me much and made me both smile and cry by what you have said. Hopefully sometime I'll get to talk to you and call you my friend.

Who's going to point out to me that I'm wrong and I'm a feminist bitch?
Raise you hand. Replacements being interviewed in the line to your left.

Well, for now, the library computer is allowing me to access THT. Hope that lasts. There is no chat utility however.
I am fine. Hunting FT work, I have a PT job I started wednesday for a company called RentMax. Living with my step-daughter, son-in-law, and g'son is good, but I will need to find my own place in the next couple of months, as I want to be moved out before her new baby arrives in late July.
I will only be able to get to a net connected comp occasionally for the next indefinite period, as my only access is at the library - there are exactly ZERO internet cafe's in this town.
Bing, thanks for the word on Blacula - I am glad she is adjusting to her new home.
Barbie, I call em as I see's em - don't talk shit, I won't fling shit back at ya. Love ya, babe!
This move has been a good one - my blood sugar levels have dropped 150 points - I had the lowest fasting blood sugar I have tested in 10 yrs yesterday (119), and the trend continues downward. Removing stress IS good for one's health, it seems.
I see Skeet made his annual post - I'd like to reiterate here that THT and the fine people I've met through it have kept me alive and (relatively) sane, and continues to be incredibly important to me.
I'll be back.

Wait till that library's network admin discovers the filth that is THT being accessed from his machines!
Great news about your health SS. Good luck getting settled in. Call us if ya need anything.

I've beat no one.
I just raise my deadly mini-mag flashlight in a real threatening-like manner, and they fall in line.
