Poseidon: The benchmark for computer-aided drowning detection systems (http://www.poseidon-tech.com/us/system.html)

ok, I know that in reality this makes alot of sense but at first it sounds like the proverbial "screen door on a submarine"

I mean, the computerised telephone answering systems that all companies have now haven't sped up how fast a human talks to you when you have a question have they?

I'm a bit concerned that we will now have lifeguards staring into the monitor....watching...watching.....

sir! we have a sinker in sector 8
bring us around
parascope UP

but, hopefully it'll be a great tool

I forsee alot of underwater mooning going on and possibly an underwater girls gone wild video

That would have to be some bad ass technology to detect a "drowner".

Even a shark would see the graceful swimmer and the struggler as a helpless entrée.

the great news is that now the lifeguard can sit in his air-conditioned hut dividing his time between the monitor and "one life to live".
