the person who dumped them
and left them to starve

probably sleeps fine at night

but if I ever find him
I'll kill all his pets

right after I sever his spine

Its only human to want to do something nasty, and yet not want to do it properly, where we can be found accountable. Otherwise, we would have to face ourselves in the mirror, and truely see who we are.

Self deception runs the world. As long as we believe that we are good people, and that we mostly do good things, then nothing will change. This field of sorrows will never finish its ghastly end.

today i saw the other extreme.

a feral cat was dragging herself by her front legs up a driveway and out of the highway, where she had apparantly been hit by a car. her back legs were mangled.
for a moment i wished i had a gun in the car. i could have humanely ended her suffering. that would have been the only way to end her suffering, because i know this cat and she is completely wild, she splits her time between starving and bearing numerous litters of more feral kittens. i would not have wanted eva to witness me shooting the cat, and she was not on my property, but i did want to send her to kitty heaven and end her pain.
this is what happens when dumped kittens are not humanely shot out here. nobody will adopt them, even if there were room at a shelter, which there isnt. but there are clinics held at least three times a year where people can get their cats neutered and spayed for about $5 -10 per animal. ive seen it. they announce it on the news. people just dont go, and i dont know why.
