In the future to come, where your present becomes myth, and the world is turned into a tale. A tale the wind carries with it in the skies.

Long ago our fathers destroyed the world with their weapons of mass destruction. Turning what left lands we had into desert, while the ocean rose above our cities to swollow us whole, and a forest poisoned us with our hate of the past. Life on land was a slow and agonizing death. But who would have thought the weapons and the machines that destroyed us would help us literally climb back up.

Imagine a world lived in the skies. Floating cities in the clouds, and creating what their people call 'mist'. It's relatively the same as a cloud, but produces a much far better condition for our warships. The sky and sea combined into the most powerful thing you have ever seen, an airship.

What people are left on the land, standing in the splinttering winds of the desert, watch a war fought in the skies. Humanity has slowly climbed far above the trees that sprouted them. It's how far we will make it that gets me thinking. Sailing above wind whisked clouds while the sun rises to shut out the millions of stars sends chills down my spine, no matter how many times I've seen it happen.

Long ago, a man like me probably thought there was little hope for us. And we still think it, thank god for optimism and determination. I am Captain H.S. Cambridge, and I sail the airship S.H. William III, the fastest sub.-cloud sailing ship in the skies, with a crew of 113. A ship I manned since the age of 8, passed down to me 42 years later by Captain Francis Ford, before he died in his bed.

Little is known of the outside world. The one above, and below us. The skies can produce amazing, and terrible, men. Even creatures. I have zeal for my kingdom, my crew, my ship, the skies. I have determination and the motivation to destroy all evils that oppose us. I have the patience of a tree, and the wings of an eagle. But what I have most...

... is hope.
