I don't know if these are satanic demon possessed cows that roam in the field across the street or if they are alien cows. But frankly, after taking the pic and viewing it, I’m a little scared. :(

The cow eyes are lit up because of camera flash or some other light source. Makes for a great picture. :)

Of course it is nothing so mundane as that! The aliens who came to earth at Knossos nearly 4,000 years ago made a serious mistake by acting too quickly. They assumed that the Cretans worshipped the bull because it was the largest, most powerful, most intelligent of all creatures.

Largest they were, indeed, and arguably physically the most powerful creature found in that island civilization. The shape shifters amongst them assumed the forms of bulls, only too find that they were trapped in bodies with poor communication tools. Trapped, unable to communicate, they reverted to the natural lives of the beasts they mimiced, siring countless calves upon the bellowing heifers of that benighted wasteland. With each generation their essence has been further diluted, until today you only catch glimpses of them by the firefly gleams they can sometimes produce in the eyes of their descendant back-bred to establish a pure breeding line.

And now you know the secret of the Cretan bulls, and why purebred bulls are so dangerous to men - they contain enough of the essence of their primal progenitors to be dimly aware of their enormous loss.
