Ok, its been a while since mute and I offered you some info on what's hot and what's not. Since you OBVIOUSLY can't figure it out for yourselves ;) , here it goes

I'm gonna start with Hulk but before I do I want all you "it looks to cartoonish" fuckers to get a grip. Stan "the man" Lee is involved in the writing and production of these flicks. he even walks through in Hulk. You cryed about "spider man's webs are all wrong" screw you it makes better sense than him inventing something no one else could and it fit the metamorphosis angle of the story better. The ppl who whined about daredevil can hush too. that was ahelluva story to try to tell and Ben Affleck actually did a good job as a blind guy (just look at J-Lo I KNOW why he's blind) the kingpin was everything I hoped he'd be (+ black) and electra was as close to the comic book as they could have gotten with a real chic. I will close by noting that the X-men flicks have so many characters that every scene has multiple persons and angles so the cgi'd portions don't stand out so much as an empty desert and the Hulk. Plus only a few of them undergo massive metamorphical changes. Storms's milky eyes verse the Hulk's giant green body! Cinematically they required different touches.
Also keep in mind that stan lee's first ever marvel backed version of the Punisher is due out soon....I own the rather pastey Dolph Lundgrin version...it has heart but wasn't much of a movie....this one will redefine frank castle I hope.

Now to the Hulk.
---------------------
I liked it. I thought they did a damn good job working in a slight change form the original story. Bruce banner gets hit by gama radiation and POW! he's the hulk. ????Not in todays world folks. there's gotta be more. And they gave us a damn good scenario for such a thing. They even allude to its physical link to his change. We learned over the years of reading Hulks hat everyone who tryed to copy him was different. Sort of a Dr Jeykle Mr Hyde thing....infact, exactly that. So, mild mannered bruce banner, sexy girl, mean evil army general, twisted psycho, long lost demented father, hulk smash, hulk crush, hulk destroy.
I have only ONE complaint..........
Jennifer Connelly was one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood fo rmost of my life and now she is an anerexic freak. what happened?
who did this to her?

she was in rocketeer, dark city, labrynth, mullholland falls (topless :o), and a beautiful mind....some where between the latter and this flick she lost like 20 pounds of gorgeousness...

sigh

Hulk = good

Now I'll do 5 movies with 5 comments each:

head of state (chris rock):
1) more bitch slappin than any one movie should be aloud to have.
2) if you hate robin givens you'll love this movie.
3) I can finally stand bernie mac
4) chris rock pulls off an entire movie without being offensive even one time (somethign he learned from chris tucker)
5) I was honestly NOT sure which party he was supposed to represent and THAT was the point

run ronnie run (david cross)
1) it was stupid but goddamn it was funny
2) I KNEW what was gonna happen inthe school bus scene but seeing it made me laugh so hard I couldn't breathe
3) finally a movie that sums up what I think about reality tv
4) if you don't laugh at the "thoughtful vagina" video you have no sense of humor
5) david Cross (the star) wrote this thing...he also writes for comedy Tv shows, movies and acts all over th eplace...but I TOTALLY did not recognize him until I looked him up.

school of rock (jack black)
1) jack black rocks....he is funny, he can sing, and he makes you wonder if he's acting or if he really IS like this
2) joan cusacks sister does a movie (besides addams family values) without john cussasck..and she's funny and not so hideous looking
3) prep school kids, rock bands, a dysfunctional wanna be rocker...how can you feel bad?
4) the other bands really DID suck
5) my popcorn had too much buttery topping in the bottom of the bag and it leaked on the floor

28 days after
1) I know its been done before, but this was done very well and very simply
2) I actually followed the emotions of this flick, and this flick was all about human emotions....and crazy murderous zombie ppl
3) it occured to me that they just hired soccer hooligans to film this movie
4) the bad guys get theirs and the good guys survive hooray for predictability!! come on guys, this was low budget...it was damn good for low budget, infact, mor emovies should have to deal with this low a budget, we'd get better stories and acting.
5) watch the alternate endings on the dvd and you'll feel much better about the last scene of the movie

uhoh
lunch is over...only 4 movies

The Hulk was an amazing movie. I fell in love with Jennifer Connoly. I thought everything about it was awesome, hands down. Ang Lee rules. If you complain about the CG, I don't care about CG anymore. Some people know how to use it, some don't. This was an excellent piece of CG. You have no clue how hard it is to do what the Hulk did in that movie. That's NOT including the actual built, and real, stuff in the Hulk sequences. Spoiler, but when he first freaks out, can you imagine setting up for something like that?!?

Funniest movie of the year: Bad Santa. Could be my immature sense of humor. This movie made me realize that if I want to laugh a lot, a rated-R comedy will do the trick. Old School had it's moments, but it moved to second place.

Matrix Sequels: Something I never want to speak of again. The Matrix still is hands down one of my favorite movies. It was the 'revolutionary' movie. It came back reloaded with a hunk of stinky, but tasty, cheese. That's my theory on it :)

Fuck man, I could go on forever about the movies I've seen, so I'll stick to the movies of this year.

X-2, hands down going to be one of the greatest movie series ever. And I say series as if there's going to be more than 5 X-Men movies. I just hope the actors stick with it, or that will damper the whole 'eipc'ness of the movies. Hally Barry is a bitch because she complained about how much she worked, and how 'little' screen time she had. Notice her on the posters and cases? Fucking bitch, she's a kick ass Storm!!! Anyways, again, hands down everything about this movie is awesome. But, I used to read the X-Men comic books when I was a kid. I even read the re-release of the very first ever X-Men back before I was born. I asure you, atleast in my opinion, that they have done one the best stories made into a movie ever. It's like making the Lord of the Rings books into movies, and X-Men has done a better job. So much better it sends chills down my spine. Maginificent.

28 Days Later: I liked it. I'd buy it if I was making a movie collection.

I don't really care to see Head of State seeing as I can most definately predict the gags. Same with School of Rock, but I'll rent it cause Jack Black is a funny mother fucker. Same with Run Ronnie Run.

Huge production I'd love to see grow bigger, and better, is Marvel. All their movies are kicking major ass, and they open your imagination in a cool way. I really thought Dare Devil was a horrible movie, and it spelt sequel all over it. Electra is hot, but damn white girls can't fight for shit.

Talking about fighting girls, Kill Bill was fucking rad. It did what it was set out to do, and did a fucking GREAT job at it. I love Lucy Lu, I love her so much :o Awesome ninja flick.

Master and Commander was an amazing movie, and it spells Academy award all over it. It shows sailing at it's prime, something that's extinct now.

Millenium Actress and Spirited Away, both japanese anime. Excellent movies. Millenium Actress is for a unique crowd I'd say, it only has one cool 10 minute action sequence, which is amazing I must say. It's no Ninja Scroll, or Vampire Hunter D. A pretty different anime compared to those 2 action blood guts spraying movies.

I know it sounds cheesy, but I can't forget Finding Nemo. Maybe it's because I watched Disney movies as a kid, but Pixar is one amazing team. I seriously don't know how anyone could not like this movie. Sure they'd never admit to actually liking it, but it has to be impossible. Errr let me make one thing clear, I'm talking in the perspective of a Canadian/American. Not an Arabian because I don't know how they'd react to Finding Nemo, or any other movie to be clear.

Oh god, so many movies. Adaptation was one of the most original movies ever. A 'mind fuck' to put it into words. It also wasn't a movie of this year. oops.

Terminator 3 is a cool 'cousin' movie. Not as dark and epic as Terminator 2, but it's still kick ass action. And Arnie does his token job. He's a class act killing-machine. I'll spoil it by saying it spells a Terminator 4 all over it, but that's not happening anytime soon. And if it does, I'll be skeptic about it.

Ok, my brain is tired.

Spirited Away was incredible! beautiful animation, a magical story and lots of laughter.

may i add a couple?

Owning Mahowny - i love Philip Seymour Hoffman! based on a true story about a Canadian bank loan manager with a nasty gambling habit and access to a lot of cash. a lot of fun and a lot of trouble. :)

Ararat - a Canadian film by Atom Egoyan. his films may be an aquired taste, but i think they are lovely, compelling and full of humanity. this one is a commentary on the Armenian genocide in Turkey during the early 1900's (which Turkey continues to claim never happened). it is a moving & thought provoking work.

these are two that i rented recently.

mas, por favor!

here's where I must argue with you mute
T3 was the absolute worst 3rd movie in any series ever

it sucks like a toothless gay grandpa at a highway rest stop

arnold's whole purpose was plot exposition, so I hope no one expected to see any terminator action..he manages ot crash a helicopter and crush a truck...whoopdy shit, cuba gooding jr did that in chill factor

the chic terminator was the only cool thing in the entire movie

and there wasn't one piece of action in the entire flick that made me believe any of it was even possibly real.
in th esecoidnmovie they did some crazy crap, like jumping that shit off that bridge into the storm drains, but it was necessary for the action sequence and it was only thing slightly unbelievable in that movie. it helpe dlead the action. In this movie the bullshit led the bullshit. I mean, I expected terminators doing incredible cyborg shit but apparntly all the other laws of physics where suspended too. And why did they drive forever to get to the desert compound but drove back in a few minutes?

and what was with that fucking crane scene?
it runs 80 mph
the out riggers are out, the out riggers are in
the out riggers are down, the out riggers are up
the out riggers are out, the out riggers are down
the out riggers are in, the out riggers are up
those things are manual anyway, dammit

worst editing since magnum force (look for the directors reflection in the car window when clint eastwood gets out of his car at the gun range)

there's $50,000,000 we'll never have back

but the really insulting part was the infantile way they tryed to explain why the end was still coming just as it had been inevitable predicted and infact, acted upon
I REALLY expected a better explination dealing with the fact that in fate you have the most leverage to change the future the closer you get to it. instead I got th egovernor of cali trying to be cryptic
juts a note but: you don't change the path of the future you change your path into it and it moves accordingly, like pool.

in short "back to the future 3" did a better job summing up fate and string theory than this flick

you should have known when james cameron wouldn't direct it and linda hamilton wouldn't act in it that it was crap

I was disappointed to find it was worse than I imagined

The Hulk sucked ass. They took everything that was original and compelling from the original storyline and threw it out the window. Had I not been a fan of the comic book and knowledgable of that version, I might have enjoyed the movie, but I was bored and irritated the first hour of it.

The Bruce Banner's father as a mad-scientist-experimenting-on-his-infant-son plot: crap

The lack of a Rick Jones character/self sacrifice of Bruce Banner in the face of explosion to save him plot: bad call

A non-uniformed Major Talbot: weak ass protagonist

A rampaging Hulk that only has the power of speech in a dream sequence: frustrating inconsistiency

The undercover-in-Central-Amercia-Bruce-Banner-teaser at the end of the movie: a kick in the nads after an hour and a half of cinematic disappointment.

I was so jaded, I couldn't even fully appreciate the cgi action.

This movie was just another unsuccesful attempt to reinvent the wheel.

hmmm talk about complete opposites.

T2 could have ended there, I just thought the T3 action was awesome. I stopped thinking 'realistic' in the first movie when they mentioned time travel. T2 is still one my favorite movies ever.

When I watch movies, I don't recognize if the 'plot' is good, or what the climax point is. It all depends if I can go along with the story or not. *scratches head*

imma check out that Ararat movie.

When I watch a movie and find no or a weak plot, I'm all like WTF was that? The same goes for those “dead” movies that never seem to climax, never rises nor falls, kind of mono tone. I wind up feeling like I just wasted an hour and fifty minutes of my life.

Unless of course it's a parody (Scary Movie, Not Another Teen Movie and so on) or an Odyssey (O Brother Where art thou), that sort of thing.

Define 'classics'.

You mean B&W's and other oldies?

Almost any and everything from Alfred Hitchcock.

The Fly, Psycho, Phantom of the Opera (the originals) and bunches more.

And each and every Godzilla vs. movie, and every movie ever played on Kung Fu theater.

That's how I feel. It's why I didn't like Master and Commander. I won't go indepth because some people maybe haven't seen it yet or whatever, but I just kind of sat there waiting for something to happen, and nothing ever did. It had the same level of action/dialogue/drama throughout the whole movie. The only thing that kept me there was the hope that it would pick up at some point. And Russell Crowe.

Jaws. hmmmmmmm. . .

I think Dances With Wolves is an excellent move, also. It tells a great story.

Ooooo. . .War Games!! :D

When I watched Master and Commander I always saw something 'happening'. I got right into the characters, and their roles on the ship. And when something climatic would happen, ie. battles for example, it was really cool watching the characters develop.

*shrugs*

Jaws f'ing rules, it's a classic in my books.
