I was driving home from school, and Rush brought this up. I'm going to try and get every fact in, but I had no paper, so if I leave something out, sorry.
A group of essay contest winners on Freedom were visiting the Jefferson Memorial. While there, the group was overcome by a spell of patriotism and began singing the National Anthem.
A National Park employee came up to them and told them in mid-verse, that they needed to halt their activities. Suuposedly they group of more than 26 were drawing a crowd, and according to law, any group of more than 26, which draws a croud, will be considered a demonstration in which A PERMIT IS NEEDED!!
Irony...the essay contest was titled: "Cost of Freedom."
This is fucking horrible. They should not have to have a permit to assemble. They have the right. And by golly, they were singing the National Anthem.
