Hoping to find some sort of positive experience in my two year occupation in the territories called "texas", i took an hour drive to surfside beach in a sort of day for steve.

i took some beautiful pictures and had quite the experieince just basking in the warm air and watching the clouds and the waves of the giant force called the ocean. The salty air, the sound of the waves.

I'm not really a swimmer... and usually the ocean is just a pool with better music, but i was just sucked into the magnitude and power of my natural surroundings.

The power is where i truly wish i had stayed away from the water....

that my friends is what we call a portuguese man-of-war. Nasty creatures. by reputation only for me until today. you see... these bitches have three different types of polyps that just love to make you hurt. i was glad to learn that after a long and painful drive to the emergency room, i wasn't alergic and the nematocyst count was very low. as of right now i'm itching and hurting like a crack whore without a hit.

The ocean. Beautiful in it's simplistic nature.

animals. dangerous. unrelenting.

and to think i was having such an enlightening experience.

I don't swim in the ocean. I have a paranoia about any body of water containing animals bigger than me. It's sort of ironic that the most harmful animal in there is something small and see-through.

I have a fear of water in general. Although i fear the ocean most. its so dark and mysterious, you never know whats underneath your feet.
::shudders::: to creepy to think about

Poor Stevo.
Only through pain do you achieve true stopage of enlightenment.

Have you so quickly forgotten the lessons of your youth?

Sorry MAC I think a jellyfish can nail you even after it is dead. The stingers in it's tentacles are coiled up spring fashion, the strike is purely mechanical, nothing personal. The Man-of-war can be quite deadly with multiple stings. If you are alergic one sting is plenty.

P.S. I am handicapped today. My monitor has gone the route of the Dodo. It only works for a few seconds when turned on so I amtyping most of this with my monitor off and I flick it on to send the message before the image is again scrambled.
.....patiently waiting for the computer guy to haul up a new monitor.....
