I hate censorship, and bitchy people

I'm a member of this forum dedicated mainly to healthy living; excercising, diet, etc. There are things like open chat, image forum, etc.

Someone recently adressed a topic to me asking why I wanted a Militia. I went into a few reasons, stated some reasons why this country is fucked, etc. Well, some people didn't like my ideas. The protested to a site moderator to have it removed because they were offended by it.

I fucking hate people. THEY DONT HAVE TO READ IT IF THEY DONT WANT TO!! Why do people who are offended by stuff think they have the right to get stuff removed? They are using their right of free speech just as much, IF NOT MORE than I am.

I fucking hate people.

Anyway, seeing as how the topic is up... what are peoples views on the censorship of hate speech... America puts up with a lot as 'freedom of speech'... over here, you can't say anything which may be construed as threatening, insulting... etc.

That kind of sucks, because it means you have to mind what you say in jest, and be entirely far too PC at times... but it also means that we don't have idiots like the KKK
promoting their fucked up beliefs.

Not entirely sure which is worse though... Freedom of speech ensures intelligent discussion about serious issues, if we had the chance to intelligently discuss hate, maybe there could be some more resolution?

Free speech is free speech. BUT, and this a big, round, juicy but, this should not not include threats against someone's wellbeing. By saying something along the lines of, "I'm going to kill, but before I do, I will rip your eyes out, stick my wang in, and fuck away," you're not really thinking the way the Freedom Of Speech right was written for.

How is "I want a militia" Hate Speech

You want to be free to speak you have to let others speak.
So when you feel threatened your recourse is to run or fight. But you can't abridge. Lest you lose your ability to run or fight.

I agree with p-man, we need a militia.
Why?
Because "we" are a UNION of states.
Not subjects of a government.
We chose to live together in peace.
We chose to mediate differences when they occur so as to maintain our freedom to live and worship as we see fit as groups and individuals.
Anything else leads to what we have now.

One group of people saying what is and is not nit-pickingly acceptable.

Telling you you can't have or do something cause they say so and forcing you to accept paying for someone else doing or having things you do not approve of.
