I have this theory,

For evey useless peice of trivia we store in our brains some other piece of information must be pushed from our memory.
I am convinced that at one time I had the formula for cold fusion memorized unfortunatley I found out why tin foil is shiny on one side and not the other.

tin foil is dull on one side because when it is rolled to its final thickness the drive roller spins faster than the guide roller thus scuffing the surface.
