I was asked to link this cause it could affect us all. (http://www.asylumnation.com/asylum/_r/showthread/threadid_30743/index.html?s=)
A few people have informed us that another forum near and dear to our hearts just had an "incident" where several people's accounts were compromised. Exactly how hasn't been determined, to our knowledge, but at least in some cases it involved getting a popup window to log in to their forum again. We have temporarily turned off html, but will restore it soon.

Use your heads - Asylum has never used popups. If you encounter one here of any kind, let an admin know ASAP, even if it doesn't ask for a login.

Popups aren't allowed here either, so replace asylum with THT and avoid insidious popups. Thank you for your time.

Al Gore would never allow such a thing, surely.

I'm aware of only one instance of popups allowed by this site; PMs.

If a popup asks you for your user information, it's is NOT from anyone officially associated with THT.

REPORT ANY REQUEST FOR YOUR USER INFORMATION!!!!!

IF YOU SUSPECT THAT YOUR ACCOUNT HAS BEEN COMPROMISED, ALERT A MEMBER OF THE ADMINISTRATION SO THAT A NEW PASSWORD CAN BE GENERATED AND SENT TO YOUR LISTED EMAIL ACCOUNT.

Manage your account first. Don't be afraid to report abuse.

Kol is correct, the only popup you should get is to tell you you have a new PM, and you can turn that off.

but just to be safe email me your account name, password, credit card #, social security #, and blood type with a pay pal transfer for $100

The popup does not ask for your password or anything...Im pretty sure it gets access to your cookies by doing a sort of log in thing, this is what passes your info on to the 'ha><0r'...

So dont click anything ever!!
