Attention Firearm Applicants

***** Please read the attached copy of the new jersey firearms law, to see if any of the provisions contained therein would prevent you from owning or possessing a firearm in the state of new jersey. If you have any questions, please contact the detective bureau. *******

--note, the detective (badge #71 of the marlboro nj police) failed to attach said law.

Once you have obtained and completed the necessary forms, you must contact the detective bureau, monday through friday from 8:00am til 3:30 pm, and make an appointment for fingerprinting and application review

---note, the hours necessitate someone taking time off from work to be fingerprinted and 'application review' on top of that, one must goto the station during the same hours to simply GET their hands on the forms, so thats 2 days of showing up late / leaving work early

fingerprinting and review will take approximately 30 minutes, so please be on time for your appointment and make sure you bring all of your forms, along with the necessary fees as well as your drivers license or other legal identification. you must be a marlboro township resident.

fee schedule (effective 3-01-97)

fingerprints - a cashier's check or money order for $49.00 made payable to: the division of state police S.B.I. *8 (a $15.00 fee is required for a background recheck after a 2 year period)

--note, the fingerprints the FBI has on me from when i worked at a major financial institution arent sufficient. the NJ state police needs it's own copy and they cant talk to the fbi... aparently. so here's an extra $50 dollar tax on gun owners in NJ., and another $15 dollar bi-yearly tax on NJ gun owners.

firearms i.d. card - a personal check for $5.00 made payable to the marlboro township chief of police or $.00 cash.

-- why to the police CHIEF? why not to the... police..?

permit to purchase - A personal check for $2.00 made payable to the marlboro township chief of police or $2.00 in cash.

if you should have any further questions regarding the application process, please contact the detective bureau

zim, you summed it up. When the citizens of new jersey allowed the legislature to impose licensing on firearms purchase in that fashion, they surrendered their 2nd amendment rights.
