I just watched Spirited Away the other night, and there are so many hidden morals in that movie (I think) I don't know where to start.

What's up with the shit-deamon(river spirit) and No-Face?

Oh---yes this won an academy award.

Japanese right?

personally - I have no intentions of seeing this movie.

I can't stand "comics" that look so 70's...it's like watching all the cheesey Pokemon cartoons...

Get with the 21st century.

However - I'm sure the premise of the movie is good.

I heard it was bizarre, pretentious and over done. As for the shit demon, maybe they were trying to rip off dogma? :p

Comic that looks so 70's? I don't get it because it doesn't look '70s' at all.

As for being over-done, maybe a tad near the end, but before that it's pretty bizarre. Bizarre as in really entertaining.

The cartoon/comic for Spirited Away, reminds me of 70's cartoons....remember Hercules? or Spiderman...?

I didn't know it was a comic. That makes me wonder, how you can compare that animation with those old Spider-Man, or Hercules, cartoons? C'mon now! It's amazing work.

You want a movie with good meaning? Watch Super Troopers.

Funny shite.

I thought it was good.

Had a weird kind of fantasy appeal which reminded me of old fairytales I read when I was a kid...as opposed for what passes for "fantasy" these days, ie, Tolkein knockoffs.

"Sprited Away" blows any modern American animated theatrical release clear out of the water.

Loved it. Bought it. Bought Castle in the Sky as well. Same review.

The River Spirit is a no-brainer. The river gets polluted over time and it's spirit comes to be cleansed at the bath house.

No Face is a bit harder to pin down. It seems to be a spirit that has no attachment to anything but wants to be attached. Because it's powerful, the attributes of anything to which it becomes attached are magnified. It seems to want to be attached to the little girl but will take anything it can get. Notice that it mentions its lonliness.

Watch it once before passing judgement. You might be pleasantly surprised.
