My employer has informed me that I have to take a weeks worth of vacation by August 31st.

Seeing as I did not care when I take this week, after considering the schedule at work, I have received the week of August 24th through August 30th off.

Now for the big question:

I have a week off from work - what do I do during this week?

Due to my foot injury, I had made no vacation plans this summer - I was saving time for this fall, when I hope to venture on a visit to new england for some climbing (Hoping that my foot will be healed by then).

Any suggestions are welcome.

New England in the fall will be beautiful.

I'll host the pissup if you're in NH.

hmmm. a week of vacation. in Texas...camping along the Frio & then a day in Del Rio for margaritas, mexican food and pretty senoritas. :)

in September, i'm going on a 3 week trek from Texas thru Utah to Yosemite, then to L.A. by way of the lovely Cali coast and on down to Baha for a weekend, back to Texas via a quick jaunt thru Mazatlan & Monterrey, Mexico. yeehaw!

so, are you in Austin now? if so, you should stop by Dirty Martin's for some greasy grub & cheap beer. :D

I'll bet that there are some things sitting around that need attention. Stay home and work on them for a day or three. Get them out of the way.

The rest depends on finances and ability. Foot injury? Tandem skydive. Skidding on your ass during landing is an option.

Whatever you choose, make it something that will stick in your head so that when you go back to work you can smile and say, "I think I need another week."
