A friend of mine from suicidegirls is fighting in Iraq. He is actually in Mosul where saddams sons were killed. He IM'd me this morning and says "I really need your help"
I was totally confused. He told me they are driving defender 110's (a type of land rover) and the blower on their air conditioner went out. So i had my dad go talk to some of our techs and i relayed the info to Brian. :D They are trying to fix it now. I feel pretty good and i'm glad i could help him.
Just thought id share.

Military vehicles have air conditioning now? Good grief. We do have a pansy ass military after all.

Defender 110, eh? I take it he's not in the US military, as no unit of the US forces operate those vehicles as part of their standard equipment load.

Could be Special Forces. They try to blend in whenever possible you know ;-).

Kayla did say he was a Suicidegirl. I would hope that was a special force and one to be kept away from the innocence of the regular troops.

He is part of the US military and they do use defender 110's as their standard vehicle. Some of them have roofs while otheres are open with heavy artiliary mounted on the back. i've got pics. he sent me a few. i'll try and upload them when i get home

It may be that they're using one of their allies vehicles, in lieu of shipping tons of HUMMV's over there.

Defenders are the workhorse of the British military, although there probably aren't any British forces in Mosul (they are all busy playing football in Basra). Defenders are the definitive Landrover, unlike the ones that they sell for use by yuppies who like to go offroad once a month. If they have air conditioning now, maybe they are poshing the whole thing up (they aren't cheap, even with no frills at all, but they last a long time and their resale is good, at least in the UK).
