not as in sex
as in RACING

venus recently posted some pics of female top fuel dirvers (most of which had links broke I think)

my dad was a big fan of
Shirley Muldowney (http://www.muldowney.com/)

more on her (http://www.racerchicks.com/racers/muldowney.html)

she was the first woman in pro drag racing and she beat the best of the best and took 3 national championships. She's been blown up and on fire. She's recovered from major injuries. And 2 years ago (at age 60) she was going over 320mph.
That's a fast woman.

and she was hot too.....

(I won't comment on the blowers)

Does your grandma drive like this?

Now there are more than a few female pro drag racers. Maybe venus will round up those links again. :)

This lady is fierce. I don’t know about her personal life but on the track, she’s a force to be reckoned with. Not to mention a babe too.

You can read about her here.

My sister wants to drag race bikes. I'd give anything to get to race a top fueler or a funny car. Next weekend's the Mile High Nationals. somehow, I don't think I'm going to be able to go. That really sucks ass. I turned Matt on to Drag Racing in May with Night of Fire and Thunder. Silly boy thought the street Cameros doing 90 down the quarter should impress me. Then they broke out the big boys and he just couldn't believe it. Now he understands why I am less than impressed with Cameros.

I don't think that there has been a woman racing in Formula 1, although I don't know why (I don't think that there is any restriction on it). Or in the World Rally Racing or Motorcycle Grands Prix (or Superbikes) either. I saw a show on some limey woman who raced dragsters, awhile back, but can't remember her name.

There's actually more women racers than one would expect. I would love to get my daughter in on it. I have 5 more years to find her a sponser...
