Yesterday, my car was in need of an alternator. Done. Last night, the car died on my home from my mom's. Yes I had the kids with me. Luckily, for Christmas, my mother bought us a membership to AAA. So after calling them, I told Holly to look for a big truck. A really big truck. About 15-20 minutes later, Holly's eyes got a big as saucers and she said "Whoa, that is a really big truck." Well the battery was so weak that even after starting it, the guy doubted I would get home. So did I. So he pulled the car on the trailer, and the kids were so excited about getting to ride in the really big truck. After we were settled and I started chatting with the guy, he told me he would need my help with directions, because he has only lived here for three weeks. I asked where he was from...Texas was the answer. So I told him we had some good friends from Tyler, Texas. He smiled and said he worked the run from Tyler to Dallas and was from Tyree (I think that's right). What a small world. Made me feel a little better. He was very nice, and took really good care of us.

The mountains and foothills of eastern Tennessee would be much more preferable to east Texas right about now.

Smart guy.

69 degrees with clear skies here with a 12% chance of getting pissed at a local mechanic. Bad weather, Muddy? I can't really tell from www.weather.com

Its finally normal summer time.
Mid 70's at night and the hay is growing.

As for small worlds, I'm just glad you found a competant person, MrsKol, regardless where he was from. That's 10 points for AAA.

More points for the successful replacement of the second faulty alternator.

Mrs. Kol and the Koldren are currently testing American workmanship.
Her phone is charged and ready.

Last night, I waited for about ten minutes before they arrived. Holly and Nay were waving enthusiastically from the rear window of the Big Truck.

The first words out of Holly's mouth when I was finally within earshot were, "Dad! His voice sounds like yours!"

And I'll be damned; pitch, inflection, accent...

It was a simple amusement until he began to give advice about getting attention once the shop opened.

"If they have a night drop, put your keys in there so they'll get to you first thing. If they don't... hang on..."

Off he ran to the cab of Big Truck.

"Put your key in this envelope. Write your name and the problem on the outside. You'll find an exhaust slot on the bay doors. Fold it like this and slip it through."

His name is Paul. I was impressed.

Its actually not different than our summers in NC. I just despise hot, humid weather.

My favorite season is Autum. I get along just fine in the winter.
