To those who know what I speak of:

shhhh I beg of you. And I know, I am a nazi-geek.

to those who don't:

The problem is choice.

[edit: okay, join in if you know what it is 'I speak of', just don't mention it EVER in this thread.]

The solution is: make a choice.

"If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice"

Ah, but those are the sung lyrics. Written on the album (yes, LP) jacket:

"If you choose not to decide, you cannot have made a choice."

I'll bet that was one pain-in-the-ass recording session.

And Mojo, I'm one of those who don't know what you don't want told so I won't ask.

I'll just imply at will: :bj:

I'm silly, I was just hoping a philosophy discussion with no references to certain *wink wink* subject.

The trouble is that the general topics of "choice, free will, fate and destiny" are ripe for philosophical debate. By mentioning a specific choice that applies to you and then forbidding its mention, you've silenced the ones who know and left the rest of us to either guess at your situation or drop back and rehash.

By addressing the topic in the way you have, you've effectively reduced the number of choices we can make depending on which of two categories into which we fit; Know and Don't Know.

Before you posted this thread, my choices for post #5526 were unlimitted. Once I chose to respond to this thread, I had to do so within the limitations you've outlined. Ultimately, because of that, I had no choice but to write what you are reading now.

I chose to respond. I've also been spelunking. I entered this thread as I would enter the mouth of a cave. The rock defines my path but how I navigate into its depths is not predetermined. If a cramped opening leads through a wall into another chamber, I can go feet first, head first, face up or face down; one path, four choices. It doesn't stop there. I could go naked all the way up to and including full gear.

Come into the cave you've designed, Mojo. One thing I know for certain is that you never go into one alone.

I think one of our ultimate problems as a spieces is choice.

Yeah but otherwise we'd be robots.

Nah, just the underlying reptilian instincts and stuff that define how we react to the choices available to us.

Your problem is not choices, rather, it is finding the courage or motivation to pursue them. Your call. :dunno:

Decisions, to eat peanutbutterjelly or tuna? pbj of course.

To choose a path, or another? tough call.

Pursuing something with motivation means you like doing it. What if you like eating peanutbutterjelly, but want tuna? :ugh:
