They don't disarm everyone all at once.
First they develope hatred of one particular thing.

Next they expand this list because the same bad guys who used assault weapons are now using something else.

Crossbows are illegal unless you're handicaped, did you know that. You can buy one, own one, but you can't use it legally to hunt with.
Hunting knives with blades over 5" are illegal to carry. You can buy it, own it just can't use it.
In Texas, handguns are illegal to carry without a permit. The clause in the law says "the officers discretion"
Buy a handgun, drive home, get stopped, go to jail. You can get a lawyer and get out of it but legally he can arrest you for possessing a handgun.
Egyptians used slings (like the one David used on Goliath)that could hurl a fist sized rock over 100 yards and crush a mans skull. How well would that go over a Cinco De Mayo? (mexican holiday in Texas where people who live in densly populated areas shoot their pistols straight up in the air without thinking the bullets come straight down.)

Actually Mac, with all due respect, this is not true. Most states allow hunting with a crossbow. It varies which season they allow its use. Some require use only in the general rifle season, others allow it during archery season as well. The push to stop their use during archery only season is being made by Traditional and Compound Bow shooters.

The Texas information can be found at THIS (http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/hunt/regs/hunt_licns.htm) link, but I will quote here:

Just want to set the record straight on that issue.

With regards to the U.N./Gun control issue, it will be as stated before. They will criminalize certain types of weapons, picking apart groups of gun-owners and dividing them (ie: "I don't need an assault rifle"). Eventually they will make the push to ban and confiscate (they are doing that currently in the state of California www.regagun.org (http://www.regigun.com) ).

I am certain many of us will make a stand and these friendly arguments with people who disagree with our stance will turn to blood shed for the rights of all citizens. Please recognize the push to ban God along with the push to ban firearms. There is a correlation between the two.

if you are responsible with guns, then by all means you should be able to have one, have a permit to carry them where ever you want to go with it. I don't think it should be in the hands of some heart broken 15-17 year old that was teased or something that goes out and kills all his classmates. But i don't see how it is possible for a complete gun ban. I agree with whoever said that it is scary to think the only ones with weapons to be the gov. http://www.thehypertribe.net/ubb/eek.gif But i did at one point own several guns, and am looking into getting another and a permit to have it wherever i choose. (except for work of course RW) And when my son is old enough to understand and appreciate the tool, i will show him how to use it and how to respect it. Guns are a good thing for several reasons , it's just the pricks that mis use them that make shit like this come to surface. As a single female parent, i think i have every right to have a gun in my home for protection purposes, and honestly wouldn't feel safe in this world without one. As long as I can maintain from going postal and shooting up some cubicals.. we shall all be ok!
