So this question may belong in Lessons but here goes.
If you know the answer- funny, real or indifferent, I'd like to hear it.
Appply this to yourself or others.

Why me?
I've asked myself that very question countless times in my life, in circumstances varied almost beyond belief.
My conclusion?
Because I was there for the experience, because I chose to embrace being different, because if the path of most peoples lives is a superhighway from point to point with a huge volume of traffic, my path has been a barely discernible foot trailh that would not carry a mountain bike.
It has led me, by my choice, into places most would never tread, and if they found themselves there by some wrong turning, would likely die in fear of.
Why me?
Because I choose to be.
ok, fine
be that way
why me?
99 out of 100 times that I have said that its been because i thought something was unfair.
for instance:
for 4 years I have been stuck behind old crappy computers that the ppl before me had ill treated and not maintained.
You could say I have "paid my dues" to be as educated about computers as I am.
I have worked hard and learned alot to get to a position where I felt I could really USE a better machine and THEN it took me over a year to come up with the money (after selling many of my belongings) to actually build what I wanted. So with th eexpert help o fa few friends I was able to achieve th ecomputer I need to continue my education in this digital realm....meanwhile, back in reality, my old machine which had been acting weird...died....and with it all my files...and all my pictures..and all my music......etc
I can assure you last sunday I was SCREAMING "why me!!"
but while I was grinding my teeth and clenchign my hands and diggin g out old copysa of files and looking at other places I'd hoste dthings, my expert friends took my old HD on my old puter and fiXored it. saving almost all my files.
thats the kinda thing that should make you as the empty sky "why me?"
what great thing did I do to deserve this justice?
somedays its hard to accept that bad crap happens.
somedays its even harder to accept that the good stuff didn't happen they way you wanted it.
but what should really be amazing is how we percieve things to be good or bad and in the end those things don't really care about our perception at all.

Why me?
I don't dwell on the question in every day life enough to give a good answer.
I look at all things in my life, good or bad, as "shit happens".

shit happens
Life is pain wrote the author of "things fall apart," I had an english teacher who said this every class, without fail. I say, "Life is, untill it isn't." I try to learn thing from every experience I have, good or bad. I just wonder why. What is the goal? I choose betterment of self. Just wondered what other people thought.

Hmm, do not confuse "shit happens" with "oops, I fucked up".
Things that happen that I have no control over and couldn't have done anything about, I take them as such. Not really a lesson learned but an observation and edumacation.
Now things I had a direct effect of I learn from them, apply it to the "next time".
Your "wonder why" is usually evident in any case, sometimes not, but most. I could "what if", "why", "what" everything that happens in the world whether it be my own or everyone elses. I just choose not too.
It's basic cause and effect.
