Looking back at all the things you said you wanted to be, are you one of them? As children we said we wanted to be doctors, astronauts, firemen, nurses, veterinarians, artists, etc.

As you grew older you developed knowledge, understanding and skills. You gained new interests because of these things. For some, by the time you were winding down your high school career, you had a pretty good fix on your goals. For others, you had not a clue and still don’t. Others still haven’t come to that bridge yet but it’s never too early to start nailing down something.

I ask you, are you doing what you wanted to do? Are you happy doing it? Did you choose your career or did your career choose you? Maybe you don’t have a career and a mere job that pays the bills suffices. Are you satisfied with this? Do you still want to do what you have always wanted? What’s holding you back?

I can do questions all day, you see the direction this river is flowing so row your boat.

Don't quite know what the hell I want to do just yet.

I have wanted (ever since I had the job the first time around), to be a barista. Serve coffee. Not a living but you wanted to know what we wanted to do. This is what I want.
My boss was a dick of the first degree and he was intrusive as hell but it was the best job I ever had. I wanted to come to workto make Llama-Bob happy he likes his drink extra hot but if you scald the milk he makes you do it again- put a bean on his drink and he throws it not away: but at you-at your head. Really a nice man though. I wanted to come to work early for the lady who drove through one morning about ten minutes early, I promised her that I'd open ten early the next morning so she'd not be late to work. Black Forest Mocha, extra cherry.
I loved that job, loved the people. Maybe Simon will open that dream shop and I'll be coffee lady one day.

My answer is still the same as when the folks asked me this when I was a kid: I don't know.

I wanna be a firefighter? Nope. I worked with a hotshot firefighter crew putting out a barge chemical fire in the ship port of New Orleans once. No thanks.

I wanna be a doctor? Nope. I have stitched myself together enough. And I am perty sure I would just like the other greedy slipshod hacks and sawbones that are out there.

I wanna be a vet? Nope. I don't like pets.

I just don't know.

I always wanted to be a cop. Then I figured out that A.) they get guns pointed and or shot at them and that B.) they don't make jack for wages.

My dream took a backseat to safety and material gain.

I think I want to be a photojournalist, but I am not sure. Then again, I'm not sure I ever will be sure of what I want to do.
