I had it done this afternoon.

My dad drove me there and back to his house where I slept for 4 hours. Then he & my stepmom drove me home so I could spend some quality time with teh Merlin and sleep in my own bed tonight.

My brain is foggy from the pain killers and my eyes are a bit scratchy and its hard to focus, but I can see stuff without my glasses now. My vision is supposed to drastically improve over the next few weeks.

Any hoo.....no more glasses for Muddy.

Happy V-Day everyone.

How much did that take out of the retirement fund? If you don't mind my asking. I was pondering it myself, although my vision really isn't that bad, it could be alot better.

A hair shy of $3k.

I had that done over 4 years ago. It was by far the best present I have ever bought myself. People who don't have vision problems take for granted how wonderful it is to be able to A.) SEE the alarm clock in the morning, B.) Hop in to the shower without feeling your way to it and C.) Jumping in to a pool without having to worry about losing contacts or glasses.

It was almost a euphoric feeling when I had it done. Periphral vision was something to get used to.

Congrats Muddy!

The morning after:

My eyeballs look like I jumped in to the ring with Mike Tyson after calling him a bobo honking rump ranger, but I can see much better. I'll be glad when they heal. Right now, I'm percieving everything with a fuzzy texture. The world is made of peaches.

What was your vision before the procedure? Once you get rechecked, be sure to post that, too.

Wow, how excellent! I would get that done if I needed to. I do wear glasses, but only to see things far away. I don't NEED them though. My prescription is almost nothing.

Anyway, I hope you love, which I'm sure you will.

Before the procedure, I was -0.50 in one eye and -0.75 in the other. I got checked out this morning and could see 20/25, but not with a lot of clarity yet. Doc says that will come with time.

I think I'll get some more sleep and be uber-worthless and lazy today.

i started having drs. bug me about doing that when i was in the 6th grade. see, my vision is really, really bad. my contact prescription is like -7.75. when i dont have my contacts in, the world looks like impressionist art. i can make out colors and large shapes, but i can see no detail. ive considered it, and i know i probably should have that done, but i havent for the same reason i still have my wisdom teeth.
im scared to fucking death of the time i will lose to recovery.

Bing, I went to work the day after the procedure. I wore safety glasses to keep anything from scratching my eyes but I had no problems. You really aren't in any pain but your eyes feel irritated. (Like when you've had your contacts in for too long.)

Yep. 24 hours later for me and all I feel is very mild discomfort. Moisture drops make them feel brand new for a bit and I can fucking see. Without glasses. I'm looking out my window and I see everything out there pretty clearly. And I know it will be better next week.

Dunno, myself but it'd be nice to find out.

I snagged this just for reading purposes. It's not an endorsement:

I have Valuim and Percocet left over. Highest bidder gets 'em.

I never understood why they gave out som much pain killer after that surgery. Barring a little discomfort for two or three days, you must be a real sissy pants to need killers, eh?

Mudflap

I suppose. I took the Valuim before the surgery because they didn't want me to be jumpy while they were laz0ring my eyeballs. Afterwards, I took one more and a percocet so I could sleep off the worst part. Since then, I'm getting by with moisture drops to keep my eyes comfortable.

Well over a year later and I have 20/15 vision.

I also have some Valium left. I did take one on my wedding day.

It's Monday, 2 A.M.

Send left over Valium now.

Still 20/20 with mine, too. Best thing I've ever bought myself was good vision.
