"Do we, as humans ever know what to do, or do things just happen to happen at just the right time?"
-Solstice_Gray

that was said here (http://www.thehypertribe.net/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7695) and it is, totally, its own topic.

I am not sure how to start it off fairly, but I'll kick the ball towards your end of the field and we'll see what happens.

"fate" "free will" & "karma" seem to be standard cliche so beware using them here for qualifiers, as they may be turned against you.

Its a fact that we cannot consciously affect the outcome of certain events. (avalanches, floods, earthquakes, etc) Its highly questionable how to measure our very effect on the infinite variables that lead up to most things in the universe. (a butterfly flaps its wings, yada yada yada bad weather)
But I tend to believe that everything you do has an effect and lends to those infinite variables.
From the weather to love to luck to the amount of time you have to live in this body you can only, truely, consciously, choose your effects on part of it. But that, like all else decides how you perceive the parts you cannot affect.

I'll leave my opinion at that till a few others get to chime in.

Fate Blanchete? Free Willy? And my karma ran over my dogma.

I honestly don't know.

Somedays I would like to believe in fate and the everlasting know-it-all- you know, Yogurt. That short, gold tinted smartass with the flame thrower.

But then I start to think about all the BS I have been through and to think that it would be only me stoopid enough to do shit like that.

For the most part I take life as it is thrown at me. If a sitimication comes up that is the optimist's dream, then sure, ok, you talked me into it. Other times I make my decisions as I go.

As for what I do having infinite ramifications on the world around me... besides on family and friends which should be self evident, I believe it makes no nevermind.

"You mean I'm not the center of the universe?" Sorry but no.

Make your life and live your life by your own rules, laws and standards. Reality will have a check in the mail soon.

I live my life pretty much by my own rules also.
The qualifier is thought for those around me when i do so.

As far as Fate, Luck,or Karma i give you this

A single word taught to a child then repeated 25 years later effects everyone who hears!

If not then explain to me racism and hatred!

i dont always know what to do.
i pretty much dont ever know what to do.
but i have all the tools i need to find out. i have the capability to research every angle. and i have sense enough to ascertain who my actions would pain or benefit.
my word for the year that will be included in all my meditations and decisions, ive said it before and ill say it again:
selflessness

My daughter is Karma, and if I was anything like she is at age two then I would definatley have to say I believe in Karma(not my baby but the whole what goes around comes around thing).

fate - destiny - ummm well who knows

Free will is something I do believe in. Everyday we have to make our own choices and it starts with "should I hit snooze one more time?" and of course our whole day is consumed with choices, should i get out of bed?, should i wear the red shirt?, what am I gonna eat for breakfast? etc. How can fate control our lives when every decision we make can change our lives?
