So....
Tonight on 60 minutes, they are doing a profile story on our good buddy Darryl Strawberry (http://cbsnews.com/now/story/0,1597,285153-412,00.shtml) where he discusses his latest failures.

Why are they wasting our time with this kind of crap? If I want to see junkies, I can drive to the local shelter downtown. They're on every corner; yet I don't see anyone doing an expose on them ! Maybe I should feel sorry for him because he was famous.

Famous people are good role models. (http://www.eonline.com/News/Items/0,1,7579,00.html)
They always set great examples. (http://www.eonline.com/News/Items/0,1,7133,00.html)
Have, a problem? Celebrities have the answer! (http://www.ludd.luth.se/misc/nirvana/misc/suicide.html)

My point /question is this:
Why do we as humans put so much stock into what these few people are doing? Why do we feel such emotion over their trials and tribulations?
When was the last time one of these fuckheads asked how you were or how they could help YOU?

Anyway, I think I hate most famous people.

I'm gonna use my psychic powers and go out on a limb here: Darryl will be as big of peice of shit AFTER they do the interview.

Most people hate their lives and fantasise about these "celebrities."

They can live out these fantasies for the slighest time while watching them on television.

They idolize them. Which is interesting. Because if they believe in God, he will kick their asses. "Thou shalt have no other idols than me." Or something along that exact line. Anyone on TRL is going to hell. Anyone who watches Entertainment tonight is going to hell.

But that's only if you believe...

Well, if you work at a boring unfulfilling 9 to 5 job, you are going to want someone to look up to. Its natural for people to live their lives vicariously through other people. Its called envy. Then again, for the case of Strawberry, you could simply be laughing at his misfortune. How can someone once so mighty, fall down into suck a shit state. Theres a lesson in this. Just because you are rich and famous, doesn't mean you will be invincible.
* Points at Strawberry and laughs*

Yet another reason to NOT watch TV!

I love it when others inadvertantly prove me right http://www.thehypertribe.net/ubb/biggrin.gif

"BTW, did you see that stupid commercial about..."
