I'm about to look into the writings of an author I've yet to read.

Timothy Zahn's Angelmass is about to become a meal for my mind. He's written quite a bit but this his latest work will be my introduction to his method.

A new author (even one well established) is always a breath of fresh air. I look forward to forming my own opinion of his writing style.

That's not to say that I don't invite you to be the critic. Please do.

I'll still form my own opinions.

same vein different bloodcell:

in 1990 or 91 my mother had to call th eublisher to special order me a copy Alan Tennant's the field guide to texas snakes edition 1

It was incredibly informative and I refer to it constantly

now, 2002, I go to amazon.com and preorder "edition 2"

the changes in content and th ereflection fo the knowledge is so unbelievable...
the first book is literally "fiction"

(for instance it went from 63 species of snakes to 105)....

the lesson is:

Today you know what is fact, tomorrow you will know what was fiction.

Yesh. Timothy Zhan are a good book riter.

He has the ability to interweave multiple subplots around the main plot without frustrating the reader. I know I've read at least five titles by him, but I can't remember any titles.

I'd do a search, but rasslin' is on TV shortly. :p
