Last night I went to the movies with Gary and we went to see Red Dragon. (I thought it was pretty well done).
ANYWAY, so we were late (like always) and Gary went to go buy the tickets while I went to the washroom quickly. So, there was a movie theatre employee standing there to take your tickets and I asked her... "Where are the washrooms". She looked at me like I was a complete retard and said nothing. I realized this and remembered Gary once telling me that they call them bathrooms here. So I said bathroom, and she still looked like she didn't know what I was talking about. THen all of a sudden it seemed like a light bulb went off in her head and she said "Oh, RESTROOMS".
WHICH ONE IS IT???????????? PLEASE TELL ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What do you people use here?
Needless to say, I just didn't get how she didn't know what the fuck a washroom was. DO YOU?

Usually either Bathroom, or Restroom. I tend to use Restroom when having to ask where it is. Otherwise, if I'm around people I know and love, it's just "I'm gotta pee. Be right Back."

Remember where you were. The employee in question probably wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed. She has 2 functions: 1.) Take ticket. 2.) Tear ticket. Not exactly rocket science. She was probably so 'tuned out' when you actually talked to her that it stopped all brain functions.
( by the way, I use the restroom. )
I pretty much go outside unless there's reading involved....

Go into just about any restaurant, hotel, casino, department store, etc. Usually you'll see the sign reading "Restrooms".

I like to ask where the water closet or the loo is. That really throws them for a loop, especially here in Tennessee. After I ask, they usually say something like "yer not from aroun her r yer?" I have lived here since 1978!!!
Seriously though, I usually ask for the restroom or bathroom, but if you came up to me and asked me where the washroom is, I would know what you were talking about. Cruise Directors answer was probably more on target, they are there to take the ticket, then tear the ticket. Brain activity is not present.
