Drinkin Beer Shootin Pool

There's been a lot of discussion lately about music and bands and drinking but it just occurred to me that in all the time I spent playing music in clubs and all the time I spent in bars and what not one thing was always the same.
You go in.
You get a beer.
You find an empty pool table and you feed that bitch quarters all night.

Much smoke, much drink, much pool.
Sometime its darts.
Once in a while its cards.
But its almost always pool.
Andf I was never very good at it.

I can be an excellent pool player, I can also play the shittiest pool you have ever seen, usually in the same game.

I gave up pool when my (then) best friend challenged me at camp, I kicked his ass and made him cry (he taught me). The award presentation formed a rift between us.

if there is no live band, the jukebox needs to be fed like a starving hostage. Music seems to play a big part in my game. If there is a good song on, I shoot like a man created to do nothing else but win the game. and when there's a carp song pummeling my ears, I outright suck.

And have you noticed the beer plateu effect?
1 beer, still warming up, getting the shouldre loose.
2 beers, trying for the harder cuts, the 3 bank shots, making half of them.
3 beers, GAME ON!!! you are suddenly ESPN 9-Ball tourney material.
5 beers and up, only the really strong can play at this level, and play consistently well at that. </FONT c>

The best game I ever played followed that very rule.

We were playing at a club and the owner kept giving us free shots of HOT DAMN!.
Oh Boy did I feel good.

I had just won a game and the next quarters belonged to a cute little ol gal who had obviously just gotten off work at one of the other bars in town. I broke and sank nothing. Some guy pulled me aside and was talking to me while she made about 3 or 4 really good shots. She had this little smirk on her face. Any way, I staggered over to the table and ran 7 balls with several fairly hard banking and english shot to get around her remaining balls. I was down to the 8 and thinking WOW I'm kicking ass.
When I looked and saw her poor pathetic face.
I missed my 8 ball. I won eventually but I gave her a go at the game first.
I'm a soft hearted fucker.

used to pay a lot of pool for beer, doubles, a handle a corner, one of us would be in form and we could drink all night for free.

One time my mate was taking the break and the cue ball shot of the rack into the jacket pocket of an old drunk who was finally going home.

I prefer cards over pool..I used to love pool but got sick of it. Most weekends I go out with my friend/s and we drink/smoke and play cards. One of them had a poker night a few weeks ago and we were betting 10-50 cents on each game and shit..twas really fun http://www.thehypertribe.net/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.thehypertribe.net/ubb/biggrin.gif and I managed to be up $1.something by the end of the night..eeeee!
