View Full Version : My Take on the California Debacle
I just got my new National Geographic yesterday.
One of the main articles in it is about the hydroelectric dams in the Pac-Nor-West
But the interesting thing is the Full 2 page add by the Ford Motor Co of their new hydrogen cell car that goes on the road in California this year for testing.
I'll see if I can find a link.
here it is (http://www.freep.com/business/qfuel17.htm)

I've already started buying beach furniture just for this reason.
Utah recently went through a big debate over deregulation of the utility companies. All it took was one good look at California to say "no thanks."
California wants the best of all worlds. How can they expect to cram that many people into that size of an area and not experience inconveniences? I won't really worry about power problems until the lights of Vegas go down. Then it's time for a revolution.

You are very correct Mac.
I work in a power plant so I have more info.
Yes the environmentalists have really beat the fuck out of the power industry.
SCE has also shut down several plants due to profit margin problems caused by emission standards. Also the global warming pundits want us to reduce CO2. Nuclear power is still expensive and really hard to sell. Solar power and wind power are window dressing and under attack by the BLM.
The way I see it is big money is to be made by deregulation of the power industry. We had no power crunch last year and consumption has not gone up. I think the mothballing of power plants is a plot by the power companies to create this crisis in order to justify higher rates.
This is just like the oil embargo in the 70s.
Do you remember them telling us there was only enough oil to last till the mid 80s? That was obviously a lie and so is this.
I remember in junior high school seeing images of a world wearing gas masks by 1990. We were all warned that if gasoline engines were not done away with that by 1990 the air would be unbreathable. Another lie.
Looking back at the bullshit the general public has been fed over the years makes it pretty easy to see they are still pulling the wool and poking us in the ass.
Long live the consumer without whom big business would have to give their sex organs a rest.
