Well, 3 little kittens, 2 alive, one dead.
Behind our shed, the woodpile, near a bees nest in the ground which got torn up last night.
My theory, the local nazi coons attacked the bees nest, and then decided to wreck shit on the kittens, and the momma cat busted a move.
I dunno...
We took the two kittens to the police, which turns them over to the animal people. Maybe since they're so new, they won't have to be killz0r3d.
It was heartbreaking hearing the little guy screetch/meow for momma. Bah, that dumb cat shoulda birthed someplace else less condusive to wreckage.

You took newborn kittens to the police? The police turned them over to the "animal people" ?
Do you know who these "animal people" are?
I suspect they are your county's Animal Control employees. Their job is not to rehabilitate abandoned companion animals. Their job is to control the local population of strays. They do this by capturing them and then killing them.
Those two kittens were promptly thrown into a dumpster. I just hope they had the decency to humanely euthanize them first.

Well...yeah, I know what can happen. Though that's not always the case.
I wasn't going to have their dead bodies in my backyard.

Jeebus man, show some compassion. Hand raise the little fuckers and watch them grow physically as well as in your heart. P-mahnn sucks.

Not an option. My dad is violently allergic to cats.
I love my dad a little bit more.
.......
shovel
heads
hole
then walk away
if you aren't going to raise them yourself its no one else problem.
mother nature had a solution that you decided to intrude upon
if you can't accept her rules how will you live by your own?

Mother Nature is quite a complicated woman. At what level do we say nature was intruded upon? Wood piles don't naturally occur, so did we create a false habitat and intrude upon nature? We can take this all the way back to the first time we tore up vegetation to build something.
The sad fact is that the kittens were abandoned. Now I am probably the World's least loving person of any cat that doesn't have a collar and doesn't live in a house. Cats are feral and do more bad than good to an enviroment but you have to deal with the problems as they come along. Taking them to the animal shelter may have been an alright idea. Maybe they will raise them, spay them and adopt them out. Chances are against that due to lack of funding for such projects.
I personally would have taken Mac's approach. Homeless kittens are a lot like misguided youth. You can pity them all you want but perhaps you should hold their parents accountable.
hmmmm
you do have a garden plot
ever hear that "circle of life" song?
it means that cats die so I can have more salsa

Mac, the stench was horrible. Absolutely foul.
If the rotting, maggot infested carcus were covered in flowers and smelt of incense, perhaps I would've.
Fact is, we have critters around here that forage for things, and I'm not burying a rotting carcus in my garden, which I still visit daily to retrieve veggies, and then have some critter diggin shit up to eat some cat meat.
Ill stick to my bags of manure, thank you. :)
whatever dude...but mamaMAC used to send me to catch th estinkiest ole fish you ever saw to plant under her tomatoes and we canned 100 Quarts (plus what we ate that summer) from 2 rows or 6-7 plants each one year

Glad that's over with.
We have cats running around all over the neighborhood. Several years ago, our neighbor had a mother cat that chucked out her second brood even as her daughter birthed her own outside our door.
Mrs. Kol and I decided to help out by taking care of the daughter's litter while the neighbors tended to the mom and hers.
For reference, we named the mom "Koby" and the daughter "Boober". Our own cat, Yin, was tolerant of the little fuzzballs but defined her personal space with spit-and-hiss when required.
We lost one of our batch; the sweetest one. While her siblings played, she took her last breath in the palm of my hands. Her resting place is at the root of a newly (then) planted dogwood tree. Hole - kitty - dirt - new tree. Boober didn't seem to miss her. In fact, as she weaned the rest they became a pain-in-the-teet.
At one point, we had 14 cats (3 adults) running around playing with each other. Mrs. Kol and I found homes for several of Boober's offspring. Three of those went to their new home together.
Before that, though, Koby's kittens liked hanging out where they knew Boobers offspring would sometimes come out to play. Unfortunately, my warm car was a good place for them to sleep. The top of the rear-left tire proved fatal to one sleeping kitten as I started backing out of the driveway on my way to work. I had a private kitty-funeral the next day.
Then came Rusty; a Redbone Hound that was apparently injured in a hunting accident. Once injured, he headed for the woods, was found and nursed to health by a friend of Mrs. Kol whom asked if we would take him under wing. After some debate, it was done. Good dog, Rusty (RIP).
The cat problem went away quickly after Rusty showed up. To my knowledge he never killed one. I watched him bark one into fear, pick it up by the scruff and carry it out of "his" yard. He like NIN.
Cancer Sucks. Had to put him down.
