Once a format is chosen, will the original author be required to maintain and update or will the code and methods be handed over to someone with the ability to replicate the original as well as add/alter content?

They both look good, but if I had to pick, I would go with Piano's

Ok. Here's my opinion.

Both are masterful works of art and functionality. Pianoface's work is clean and easily navigated while the nuances of Womcat's placement and juxtaposition please the eye.

If one must be chosen over another, I'd have to go with Pianohead. However, I would also be pleased to see Womcat's work grace my screen at random. Perhaps both can be employed in rotation.

If a page author submits an alternative (and the links are accurate), perhaps a rotation can be established. I, for one, would be pleased to see a different version of the front page from time to time. In fact, I would be more likely to begin my daily jaunt on the front page if I suspected a change is likely.

I've just convinced myself to reset my homepage. I look foreward to seeing the efforts of those with the knowledge to create.

That's my vote. 'nuff said.
