Actually I enjoy spiders as well as snakes, though I don't raise any.
Now, I am not well schooled on spiders, but I will tell you one thing ALL SPIDERS ARE VENOMOUS. DO NOT PICK THEM UP.
That being said I do NOT advocate killing all you see as a spider never flew up and bit me 5,000,000 times while I was trying to fish (unlike SOME bugs I could mention).
So anything that eats those other bugs is cool by me.
I do not know the proper name of this species but they are VERY common around here. They make funnel webs in low branches and tall grass and they LOVE to hide in wood piles.
Normally the ones you see would about cover a silver dollar (I believe those are males)...but these are FEMALES (I hope, or boy will I look silly)
There were 2 this size behind a piece of plywood on the back porch.
