So, I was splitting some logs with a machine today. Simple, going rather smoothly. Did a whole bunch, and was feeling good about myself.
Well, some stupid chunk of wood, I don't know, about maybe 4 pounds or so, decided it would be a good idea to attack me. So it flew off and smashed into my chin, jarring my Jaw, and creating a rather large, and deep wound.
Now, I waa running to my truck to get some tissue, because I realized my hand was all bloody. Sitting, chillin, waiting for the blood to stop flowing so I could drive to the urgent care center and get it dealt with.
I get there, some nice ladies deal with the insurance stuff, and take me into the room where the needles are.
The Doc comes in, says stiches are where it's at because it's deep and large. So, I'm laying down, and, just as I remembered when I got some at the age of 9, he pulls out the huge needle and sticks it in my face about 6 times to numb the shit up.
The nurse comes in a cleans it out with salt water solution and is scrubbing it with a steriile rag. I couldn't feel anything. It was weird.
Only 4 stiches, but 4 more than I planned on getting when I woke up this morning. And I'm here now, the numbing stuff is wearing off, and it is starting to hurt, a lot.
Ouch.
