And with that decree, the door to the black market was opened wide. Pity the poor Saudi child who will one day snuggle up to a Pika doll that travelled great distances in someone's colon.
Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't banning something make that thing more valuable to those who can't have it legally?
Then again, Pokemon + Barney = Hell
Hmmm. Much thinking to do...

Zoey!!! We must save the pikachus!!! http://www.thehypertribe.net/ubb/eek.gif
Of course they don't want children watching cartoons and playing with toys...that would be wasting time that they could be using to they teach them how to use machine guns and kill anyone of a different religion. http://www.thehypertribe.net/ubb/rolleyes.gif

Hi.
Devil's Advocate here.
Allowing your children to fall into a pop culture fad not only hampers their individual developement it destroys the foundation of the actual learning process.
Perhaps the Muslims are more concerned that their children maintain a base for their education and religion. Perhaps they are concerned that a child who must have the same toy as every other child will only be measured by his or her comparison to the child next to him rather than his or her individual strengths. Children need our support to expand their individual talents, you know.
And, as with all pop culture there is the "coveting" issue.
As for "black market" that would require the children to have the funds to support it.
In America, these pop fads are fueled by the free flow of money into the hands of children who do nothing to earn it or do piddly chores and are paid in excess of their merits. Setting a standard for a false economy in the world of credit card debt ridden adults.
But what the fuck do I know?

excuse me...but it seems like the Saudi's are going to get the opposite result...anything the parents's don't want kids to have...in the kid's mind eye..makes it a definate 'have to' gig..some things are just better left alone to die off or fade away..in silence...which Pokemon will do and will go the way of Barney, if left alone..passing fancies, and the 'something better comes along' quickly in this day and age...tomorrow it will be something else..but not over there...they have sealed their fate...ha.! you go kids...!!!
