Went to Cornwall in the SOuth West of England a few weeks back. Stayed at Tintagel whihc is a headland that has the remains of Uther Pendragon's Dark Ages castle on it. Pendragon is supposedly the father of Arthur so the legend written down in the 12th century goes. Anyways, here are the pics from the trip.

Stopped off on the way at this big group of standing stoines in the middle of a very wet and windy Salisbury Plain. They need no introduction really.

me looking out to sea at the base of the castle pennisula in Tintagel. Behind my shoulder is a cave called 'Merlins Cave' , last time I was in Tintagel you could get down there but you can;t anymore because of the sea eroding it.

New desktop for me, as well :) (thanks)

I'd have a hard time not climbing on most of the stuff there. The rocks near the cave and that boulder you were talking to looked particularly inviting.

Great pics, Phil.

I have noticed in my travels that I get weird feelings when I get to the "end" of something. Perhaps because I am so landlocked where I live I get feelings of total openness and freedom when I stand at the point where land ends and oceans begin.

I rather like the feeling.

I agree Cruise. When you think about it its no surpirse that people thought you would fall off the edge eventually. The ocean is a very liberating place.
