Heh! Isn't that a shame? I agree. Isn't it just wrong when the tables turn like that? *grins*

<FONT COLOR="Red">I just want to buy that guy a beer. He did the right thing, no doubt. And what do ya think the crook was thinking as he lay under the SUV with his life ebbing away slowly? Probably something like "Shoulda stayed home and watched Springer"</FONT c>

Boy I hope this is the start of a trend.

American Rifleman lists a half dozen or so of these stories every month.

Did anyone happen to notice the "nature" of the SUV being jacked? That guy should've gotten his ride stolen. All ghetto-accesorized. It boggles the mind.

But, props to his using his right. Although he shouldn't even need a fucking license to own it. Damn politicians and their need to rule me.

The article quotes it as "a carjacking gone bad". Note the ironic media spin? I say it was a carjacking gone GOOD!
That armed man just prevented hundreds of car jackings! Several directly (the perp definetly won't do it again) and his contemporaries will think twice for a while.

Woof.
If it's so sick, why are you laughing?

no point to make, i just thought that was a little crazy.
dealing with hostage situations:
1) if possible, smack hostage away from captor.

i say that you can't call the man who gambles and wins stupid (because he WON, dammit. this is a great excuse for many things), but this seems a little risky.

<FONT COLOR="Red">Of course it's risky. But then again, so is staring down the barrel of a gun pointed at you.

Just the other day a friend of mine from back home (Long Island, NY) told me a tale of his that had him leaving a 7-11 with his coffee in hand. An asshole with a kitchen knife accosted him, demanding his wallet. The guy was all fucked up on who knows what, my buddy takes this into acount, and slaps the knife out of said asshole's hand. Proceeds to beat him a lil bit, and gets in his truck to leave. Jay either hit him to hard, or not hard enough, because the asshole gets into his car to follow him. Jay decides to do the only reasonable thing he can think of at the time to deter this robber, ram the car with his own truck. Jay mashed the entire driver side to hell, pushed him against one of those concrete parking bars, and left. I love my friends, I really do.

And also, the whole theorhetical "What would you do if..." game has very little real world value. Just ask my ex girlfriend who was stabbed 15 times in her own apartment after walking in on the guy robbing it. We had played the game on the way to Tampa Internatinoal a few months back. Her response to my line of questioning was that she would try to reason with the perp, to find some emotional link to turn him away from wanting to hurt her. She did try that ploy, and look at how well it worked. 1 helicopter flight to an ICU ward later, she see's things my way.</FONT c>

Talking and reasoning with a perp is Hollywood bullshit. When you are robbing a place who has the damn time and patience to sit down and listen.

The first time I read this I could have sworn it said:
