If you have no other reason to vote libertarian taxes should be enough.

Last year I paid 15% taxes and then found I only needed to pay 7%. So I had to ask for my 8% back.

Essentially, I got a refund on the sales tax I paid all year.
Or you could say the Fed owes me for the interest I could have made on that money for a year. In savings it would have been about a months worth of gas to and from work.
That money equates into a lot of different places in my budget.
But I budget based on what I make. The fed budgets based on what they hope I'll Make.

Long story short: The fed should not tax me directly.
Anyone who can't see that probably thinks the civil war started over slavery.

I don't care if I'm taxed on what I make or what I spend. But it must be one OR the other. Not both. No more deductions. No more credits. No more refunds. No more hidden taxes on everything I use from the phone to the doctor.

Just let me give a % to my community
let them give a % to my state
let my state give a % to the fed
and don't ask me for anymore.
