More Jump Pix

I finally got around to having some of the Jump 2002 pics developed. I've uploaded 25 of them to HyperJumpers (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/hyperjumpers/). You'll find them at the bottom of the list.

The first one requires a little explanation. I've already been asked if I had my head tilted back like that because I was scared. In a word, nope.

Before we jumped, Adam told me to keep my head back like that until we were in freefall position so he could see what he was doing. Just before that pic was taken, my eyes were wide as I stared down into the cloud deck. Adam had to "remind" me by grabbing my forehead and pulling my head out of his way.

Plunging through those clouds was about as surreal as any dream I've ever experienced.

By the way, it's fucking COLD up there. Just on the hands, though.

I was also instructed to keep my feet far back like I was kicking Adam's ass. Looks like I forgot to not do that until the chute popped and made it impossible.

After the chute popped and I was allowed a bit of directional control... Paraphrasing:

"We're headed into the wind now. Moving at about 25 mph relative to the ground. Can you locate the landing zone?"

"Yeah, I see it."

"Ok. Let's get ready for the landing. You're about to drop a few inches from the harness so get ready for it."

"I think I might be able to hang onto your ankles if you screw up."

"Haa haa! Probably not. Let's plan on landing on our butts. Pull your feet up so you can see them."

"Like this?"

"Good. We'll be coming in like a three-legged race. If we mess up, we'll land on your face. Coming in... feet up... good... If I tell you to stand and run, do it."

"k"

We landed on our feet with our asses undamaged.

The best part was when Holly interrupted the landing intervue by running to me and jumping into my arms.

I'm ready for the next one!

Honestly it depends on the species and the contact-area.

A sparrow, for instance, wouldn't stand a chance at causing damage unless it goes down your open mouth.

A penguin smacking one in the genital area would make one both rich and famous.

Off topic, but one of the things that was so great about those 3 days (besides jumping) was hanging out in the hotel and chatting with Kol without having to type anything. He had me cracking up one minute and my jaw dropped to the floor in amazement the next minute. Mrs. Kol and the two mini-Kols were also great people to hang out with.

Oh yeah. Billyman and Jojo were FUCKING like minks when Kol had the front desk ring my room and announce his arrival.

*Mudflap knocks on Billyman and Jojo's door*

*3 minutes elapse*

*Jojo answers the door with an innocent grin on her face. Billyman is lying on the bed shirtless and smoking a cigar*

Mudflap: "Mike's here. He's coming up."

Billyman: "Cool."

*Jojo rushes to the bathroom and starts fucking with her hair*
