It's the result of localized environmental control. First came indoor plumbing. Then we learned about shoes. Then air-conditioning. Birth-control was still a fiction while barn-raising was an excuse for social gathering so the population increased. The "typing monkey" scenario began to pay off when we put it all together and figured out that shoes on ice in a big barn is a shitload of fun. The "drunken-fights-at-the-still" has also passed through the generations.

Mix into that the fact that moonshine kicks beer's ass and a little bit of global warming and you should reach the obvious conclusion.

Perhaps Canada needs to re-evaluate its perceived superiority in this area before a new generation gets the idea that Jamaica can't have a bobsled team compete against them in the Olympics.
