Update:

Looks like I'll have to come up with a grachic for Mrs. Kol's Seal of Approval.

Whew! Kids are work!

Where was I...

Read read...

AH! The Seal!

Several topics here struck chords. This one in particular.

On behalf of my beloved spouse and the mother of my children, I designate this thread as a source of sacred knowlege.

Actually, that was the thumb. Your sphincters are safe. She washed before she made that.

A few things I've always done when I call tech support:

1.) Never call past 10:00 p.m. My theory is that if no one calls that late, then these people wouldn't have to work that late.

2.) Thank them for their time up front.

3.) Begin with a little small talk. They are not robots and I am truely interested in them as human beings

4.) Let them know right up front that I'm not quite the haxor they are and may ask a few dumb questions.

5.) Thank them profusely for their expertise and their time and wsih them a nice day, evening, weekend, etc.

I have never gotten anything less than A-1 tech support while having a good attitude.

true that. Act human with them, and be treated the same.

Are you kidding?
I treat them like a cop treats a speeder, give them something to ruin their day and point out how luck they are it wasn't worse. That's how you break their spirits.

Now I have to reformat my Tandy 16.25 PC with lotus. It has 2 bits of RAM and a 1.6 K Harddrive so this might take a while.
BTW RW, how many times a day does some one email you that their email doesn't work?

Man - I feel as if I owe Dell, Microsoft, Adobe and UWired 30 letters of apology http://www.thehypertribe.net/ubb/frown.gif

* pulls her mouse cord, mic cord, cam cord, phone cord & keyboard cords out from underneath her monitor, tower and printer. Watches her wedding portrait crash to the floor and shatter as she clicks on | Submit Now | *

I think we need a national Tech Support Appreciation month.
