Who thinks the Jerry Springer show guests are real? or not?

I've seen people shit, puke, shove nails in their balls, blah, blah, yada yada and everything else. I've seen worse stuff than the guests on the Springer show.

So why wouldn't they be real? And I mean real as in why they are on the show, who they claim to be and what they claim they're on the show for.

From what I have read and I understand, most of the situations are real, some are totally hoaxed. In other words, the Springer show gets a call from someone with a story, the producers try to find people with a similar story for a show. If controversial enough to make a show worthy (by their standards) to air, they do so. Sometimes they can't find enough people to fill the hour time slot and from what I understand, they may generate a family or circle of friends, all paid, to act out "a play" if you will. Most of it is rehearsed and read from a script (from what I have read).

The real people with the stories are also encouraged to carry things to the extreme for rating purposes. They ask the fat, poor white trash girl, to come running out in anger as though she were trying to kill the skinny, black, crack whore over the love of the pimping hispanic transvestite male.

Some of the stories people call in to the show are "made up" by the individuals and friends in the trailer park (politically correct version: "mobil community") and a show may be developed simply because it was interesting or controversial enough to justify the costs with hope of high ratings.

Real or not? I couldn't care less, I can't stand the show nor the dumbass, ignorent trash that is on it on a daily basis.

I believe that studies DO show that you actually get dumber by watching Jerry Springer.

I think the show is rigged. I don't think there are really people that screwed up. ( at least I hope not. )

I miss good daytime talk shows like "Donahue." They at least had interesting guests on that didn't piss me off.

I agree, I hope it's not true. It's damned funny though true or not, and I don't think it makes you dumber. I also agree that they probably don't have enough guests to fill an hour. So they grab a group of people together and make something up.

Lets just say I agree with the both of you. Donahue was cool, but Maury could kick his ass anyday! And don't try telling me Sally isn't annoying, 'cause I'd have to shoot you otherwise.

I don't think there are really people that screwed up. ( at least I hope not. )

You didn't read what I wrote did you? Have you ever seen something called 'Jap Scat'? Have you ever seen a guy get railed by a horse? etc.? Example: Go to www.stileproject.com, I bet you'll find stuff that makes some guests on the Jerry Springer show look 'normal'. :p

Or are those videos not real?

I like Jerry's 'Final Thought', I think the show atleast proves something about the world we live in. All I have to say is, "Ya never know these days."

I would believe anything that came on there as the truth. A sad indication of the quality of the people who inhabit and go on the show, I think. And the system that produced them.

All chatshows, and all daytime TV, are the enemies of intelligent thought.

I'm convinced it's a setup.
