ah.. dear sweet taxes.. how i love thee

i hate my money dissapearing like any other, but how can you overlook all the benefits of taxation.. i understand that YES it does fund the sponges existance, and (like sponges http://www.thehypertribe.net/ubb/biggrin.gif) politicians as well

but the good that a government does is beyond the deficits. there will always be lunatics.. and zealots to follow them.. we are protected from these people by a united gov't.

we get social programs, i get the library in which i am typing right now.. we get job search programs (of which i used one unsuccessfully, but they still do help some people) we get so much

i've said all of this before, and you've all rebuffed it before http://www.thehypertribe.net/ubb/biggrin.gif but i feel that we should think about the good our money can do when in the hands of the gov't when we think of the bad... might soften the blow a litte (cept for you Rogue http://www.thehypertribe.net/ubb/biggrin.gif you'll NEVER agree with me.. even marginally on this subject)

i'm not "liberal", but i agree. i'm willing to pay huge taxes for canada's health care system. the alternative is shit.
you have a bad health care system and education system and government in general, so if i lived in the states i might very well be enraged, but i don't and i'm not. i can see how the libertarian perspective is attractive, i don't think i'd want the american government to "look after" me either.

Yep in Canada we have to pay almost 50%, but that's not all! We still gotta pay GST and PST on every single thing we buy. *(%^#@*&$*@$*!)@ You. But then I'm glad, because of high taxes, I only have to pay like 2000 per year to attend one of the best universities in Canada.
