A little while back I acquired two cockatiels free of charge. w00t! One male I named Mike and a female Jojo named Abby. We both have sat and stared into the cage at their little faces and whistled tunes and repeated phrases over and over. Most common whitle was the infamous "good lookin lady" whistle. You know the one. They wouldn't repeat shit. Nothing, nada, zip. Well, yesturday Mudflap stopped by briefly as he was heading home from work. Somewhere in the midst of him being there, he whistled at those birds. He wistled the "good lookin lady" whistle. Later that evening we had some more company (Jojo's mom and mom's boyfriend). The mom's boyfriend (ironically named Mike too) also whistled the same tune a few times. Here's the funny part:

This morning as we were awakening from our nights sleep, Jojo said: "do you hear that?"
"hear what?"
"sounds like Pepper whinning (Pepper is my dog) I think she's hurt"

We start to walk out of the bedroom into the hall when she grabs my arm and ducks in behind me.

"What the hell are you doing"
"You didn't hear that"
"hear what"
"someone's whistling, someone's in the house and they've hurt Pepper!"

I listened carfully and there was a whistle, the "good lookin lady" whistle! I walked down the hall and turned the corner only to see Pepper staring aimlessly at the covered cage where the whistle's were coming from. I slid the cover off the cage only to find Mike greeting me with a good morning "good looking lady" whistle. I almost died laughing in amazement. Jojo did too. What a way to start a morning aye? Hehe, it still cracks me up. Now I'm gonna see what esle they can do!

Hahaha! That reminds me of a time where I was at the pet store picking up timothy hay for my guinea pigs, and they had a parrot or one of those talking birds there, and every time I walked by the cage, it did that same whistle! And it was only me...it didn't do it for anyone else.

Even birds know I'm hot. :D
