Personally I hate them. What is it exactly about these shows that draw people to them? Do any of you watch some of the reality shows and if so why?

I never understood why having one topic spawned into another is lame or irritating. Does it really bother people that much? I mean, really... who gives a fuck?

As for the topic:
Personally, I think reality based shows are a good way for the major networks to pander to people who are missing excitement in their lives. It's just another way Corporate America is cashing in on certian types of people, and keeping those certian types of people weak and lazy by catering to them instead of forcing them to go out and finding excitement in their own life. Easy = quick = the American way according to money hungry companies trying to sell you shit to "enhance the quailty of life". The irony is, it does just the opposite.

It is, in my opinion (which I am going to express because I never bothered posting on other topics of this nature, and coz I bloody well feel like it) a plug on peoples voyeuristic tendencies. It is nice, sometimes, to be on the outside looking in, thinking 'hahahahah, you're a sorry fuck'... makes you feel better about your own mundane existence (bit like oprah and ricky really)
I also think that soap has been done to death, and that people want the gorey details of reality these days... and everyone is so god damn sick of PCness that they want to see people lose it once and a while.
