What's your area of specialization in the broad field of education? Why?

History and english specifically. I have had enough geology to suffice as well. Though, if I teach, I would love to teach creative writing in a junior college somewhere.

[QUOTE] Why?

Why what? Why as a general question to this thread? Because I am curious about what your questions are. And at the time I couldn't think of anything enteelectul to claim to be an expert of.

Or why did I choose those specializations for edimication? Because at the time when I finally went back to college to finish(get that damned degree) the quickest way for me to do it was to go history major and english minor. I just as soon would have chosen an engineering field or some sort of mathmatical or science(archeology or geological(geophysics etc) but I would have had to go alot longer(about 3 years worth). I was burnt out on school and everything at the time. I wanted it over and done with.

Hindsight is 20-20 even with beer goggles. I should have gone the extra mile and gotten the technical degree... how much ya wanna bet I wouldn't be broke and jobless right now?

Next?

Do you have your teaching certificate for high school level in TX?

Nope. Not certified... which is another reason I am broke and jobless... It would have added three semesters to get my degree plus certification and I WANTED OUT!!!

How do you pay your rent being broke and jobless in Texas?

Does social security exist there?

Workman's Comp. I tore my knee up pretty bad on my last job- Angel Fire. I had surgery on it last Tuesday. So I am on temporary disability for a while till I get all healed up.

Rule of thumb for NM Workman's Comp, employers or WC itself, only have to pay 66 2/3% of average weekly wage to any and all who have been hurt on the job. Not alot, but better than nothing. It keeps me with a roof over my head, cigs in my pocket and food in the tummy.
