All I see is window dressing not High tech. He has a cheap business band radio with a headset. Ammo belts one looks to be 3" 20 gage ammo the other looks like .357 magnum. Neither type of ammo fits that rifle on his back. The recoil compensator on the rifle looks to be aftermarket. By the barrel diameter and the way it is hanging I would guess it is an M16 (most likely an AR15 due to the aftermarket hardware I doubt it is even full auto).
Look at the garb. A short billed hat, a scarf, military field jacket, Pipe, and useless ammo belts. He wants to look military. He wants to be associated with Zapata and Poncho Villa (Ammo belts). He wants to appear regal (Pipe) ala Churchill and Patton. The whole thing including the black mask (death to the establishment) is a publicity stunt. I admit it is working. I also agree he is being aided by someone. It takes quite a bit of support to stay above ground with a high profile like that.
