i hear a lot about the "liberal media", but aren't most major corporations, media included, owned by conservatives?

On one hand, a centralized media coverage campaign might be good. Instead of reporters fighting for the perfect "angle" on a story, they just report the news. It might eliminate all the assholes sticking cameras in some poor kids face asking, "How do you feel that your buddies just got gunned down?", and revert to plain media coverage of events.
On the other hand, it reminds me of communist countries who have one "approved" source of media.
Just once, I'd like to turn on the T.V. and see Dan Rather say, "Fuck, there's nothing cool going on in the world. Go read a book to your kids."
