Is anyone here into these types of things? I enjoy speaking about such subjects and wouldn't mind doing so with all the recent goings on in the markets.

I have been steering clear of stocks for about a year. My retirement fund is entrenched in a money market fund. I have been buying gold and expect it to go up any time now *still waiting*. Gold mining stocks are doing well as the dollar weakens. I haven't played in the bond market and am too chicken to buy puts or play futures.

P_H, it is unwise to have such and undiversified portfolio. Although I am sure your mutual funds cover a wide range of industries and their companies, it isn't the safest bet.

I would adivse pulling some out and investing it in some high yielding CDs or money market accounts.

But that's only my opinion.

We have money markets & CD's too - just a majority of it goes into MF's and it works quite well for us because we're able to live off the interest and profit from the investments.

Well, good for you! You're better off on retirement starting off early like this, that's for sure.

Best of luck with your future financial decisions.
