I started this quiet some time ago, it was the beginning of winter I think. I had forgotten about it and accidently ran across it last night. I forgot where I was going with it really. Some of you are a hell of a lot more talented at this shit than I am, so I would like you to finish it and you may change anything I have already written.

Key:

She=night
He=moon
Friends=stars
Cloak=clouds/fog/haze etc.

Make me proud:)

She comes earlier this time of year, much earlier than just a few months ago. She never comes unannounced, yet she comes silently. She usually creeps, slowly forever more, and for no other reason than to show her dominance. Some times she slips in without me knowing, but only when she caught me off guard. She is slick like that you see. Most of the time I never see her leave. I have watched her go a few times, sometimes it was with good riddance, and others were with a simple question: “why do have to go?” A magician she is, making almost every thing disappear, giving her time to do so. She doesn’t work very fast, it only seems that way when you’re not looking. She is such terrific a magician, I have never in all my years, seeing most of her comings, seen her even so much as cast a shadow. But she has an enemy that comes with her when she comes. He comes with no other purpose than to attempt to spoil her magic, you might say he is a magician himself. He isn’t as good a magician as she, so he must bring lots of little friends with him. Together they all try to reveal and uncover the exact things she tries to hide from you and me. Sometimes she lets it be, weakened for what ever reason, or just can’t compete with the strength of so many. She is sometimes outraged by their feeble attempts to undo her great trickery and whisks out her mighty cloak to try and cover and hide their existence…

They had the realtionship that seemed to have a closeness that all couples desire. But when gazing upon them for long periods of time, a person was to note a pattern that, despite their beauty together, weighs heavy on the heart.

For she was the constant in the love affair. Always waiting patiently for the arrival of her love. Her obsession was often rewarded and he graced her presence with full splendor on many occasions. Unfortunately, there were also the darker times. He would be nowhere to be found and in such absences the lady seemed to carry a mood that was much darker. Her friends seemed to burn brighter for her, but the sadness still left her unfulfilled.

The dark times were brief and he would return to her again and brighten her outlook. Her friends would fade quietly back around her and the whole love affair would begin again.

He wains in her embrace.
Far to busy on the other side of the globe.
A shadow hangs over him and she sits alone with her friends.
They sparkle with idle chatter but it seems so far away with out him. The friends all wander around the room. From one side to the other. Thick clusters of them gather to gossip of his absence.
Or maybe they can see him from where they are, and they simply form a procession down the center of her dimly lit room to say good night, a bright line of friends dawdling till the morning. She wonders, briefly if he will ever appear again, then she remembers his trips of the past. How the cloak he wore in bad weather always fell away when the wind blew out the rain. How he'd be there beaming down at her as she slept. And he'd tell her of the blue skys and the green fields. He'd describe how wide the ocean is from this view. How warm the sun is. How sweet the songbirds sing. She'd think about this while he spoke in accending tones. She hears the birds for a brief while when she comes and goes. But they don't stay long. She has seen the ocean as well but its flat and dark like everything else. No green grass, only grey. No blue sky,only black.
and the sun...well, he is her sun. So she waits again. And she sees his head top the hill. A cresent promising things to come. Its hard to be so busy. Its hard to be bound to someone you always seem to miss. And only get in their fullness for such a short time.
But they have a strange relationship worked out, he & she.
So it goes again and again and again.
Till they run out of time.
