View Full Version : Lord of the Rings Trilogy
now these 3 movies are gonna be the shiznet! i think... my brother and his friend read the books, and love this kind of stuff... i do too but i never read the books...
i think this is quite amazing in the field of film, because the director (who did Dead Alive believe it or not) did his job well on this movie... i guess he researched A LOT before filming, so he could get every part of the books (and that's a fucking lot) in the movie...
it's a trilogy (3 movies) and they filmed it all at once... that means all these actors took 2 years out of their lives to film these movies, but nothing compares to what the director did to make this movie...
i think they're gonna be great movies, something that will make starwars look extra cheesy...

Yeah, I though it was fucking excellent. Absolutely fucking excellent. I think that the only flaw in the first movie was the shortening of the beginning scene through the woods, where they find those elvish swords, as those swords hold the key to the defeat of the Nazghul king in the end, so I dont know how they will adapt to that. But the locations were the best I have ever seen in my life, the CGI was astounding in its realness, and the action and the story flowed, and melded into a great experience. You were kinda dissapointed in the end about how it ended, but you know its because there are two more to come. I dont think the next will hold the same kind of majesty as the first. There just isnt as good a setting there, but there is a lot to play with. But I think the last one will be to die for, the Return Of the King. If the next two hold up to the quality of the first, then it will probably be the biggest grossing trillogy ever, and probably the best films of all time
/me waits for assholes to try and make me eat my own words

His sword on all sides
Strikes his foes
Crushes them down
Thus drops each man
On whom its blow falls"

It's going to be my first trip to the cinema in years, mainly to spot locations, but what about 'The Hobbit'?
First you read 'The Hobbit', then the 'Lord of the Rings', then 'The Hobbit' again, then 'The Lord of the Rings' again, then if no one warns you you start to read 'The Silmarion', then read 'The Hobbit' one more time.
How can they make 'The Lord of the Rings' without first making 'The Hobbit'?

what the hell are you talking about?
i never read the books, but i guess they left out the forging of Aragorn's sword... remember the borken sword that defeated Suron... the forge it and give it to aragorn...
i loved it, but i still wanna know what the hell are you talking about?

Probably because in the Hobbit, Tolkien illustrates that the ring is a just a simple "magic ring" that provides invisability.
Though I understand and agree with your point and concern, in the rest of the public's eye, a film correlating with The Hobbit is probably "unnecessary" since it provides mostly background information on Bilbo. Or so it would seem at least.
I think they should make the Hobbit into a movie though. hmph.
